In ancient pagan societies the Summer Solstice was hugely significant as it was seen as an important time for fertility, when the harvests of the coming year were blessed. Summer Solstice marks the height of Summer, a Celtic festival now shared by Druids, Neopagans and Wiccans worldwide.
